The customer lifecycle

One relationship.
Every reason to return.

Give customers useful choices, then see which choices lead to a paid renewal.

01

Subscriptions that fit.

Recurring, prepaid and trial plans, with clear first-order offers and ongoing terms.

Plans & customer controls

Set subscribe & save, introductory offers and trials with clear delivery schedules, prepaid periods and renewal terms.

Let customers skip, pause, swap, add products, change frequency, gift a shipment or cancel. Reschedule deliveries from the last paid order when needed.

Use your domain, support contact and footer links. Choose the portal sections and their order.

Rewards with a purpose.

Reward renewals, spend and time with your brand. Show progress in the customer portal.

Rewards & milestones

Trigger checkpoints by orders, spend, months subscribed, days active or active subscriptions. Offer discounts, shipping, products, credit, gifts, a free order or a custom reward. A milestone can also have no reward.

Add, reorder, pause or retire checkpoints and notify customers when a reward unlocks. Your team fulfils custom rewards.

03

A better cancellation path.

Match the response to the cancellation reason: more time, a different product or a considered offer.

Offers & cancellation controls

Build paths with skip, pause, delay, frequency changes, swaps, plan changes, discounts, credit, gifts or an added product. Hand off to support when a conversation needs a person.

Show the next charge, offer duration, normal price and resume date before acceptance. Keep Continue cancellation available, confirm the outcome and respect any remaining paid period.

Set offer frequency and eligibility, prevent discount stacking, and choose cancellation timing.

Email recovery. SMS drafts.

Build recovery emails and lifecycle messages. Prepare campaign copy for email and SMS.

Messages & event rules

Prepare email journeys around the checkout, purchase and subscription events. Stop recovery after purchase, check recipient eligibility and keep customer consent in the flow.

Send supported reward notifications and connect lifecycle events with Klaviyo. Pair configured failed-payment retries with customer reminders.

Mercer can draft SMS copy. Native SMS sending is not part of this workflow; choose a supported sending service and confirm SMS consent separately before delivery.

05

Recovery you can measure.

See accepted saves, pending renewals and collected revenue separately. Keep recovery in the same view.

Recovery & measurement

Configure retries and customer reminders for failed renewal payments. If a rail is unavailable, pause affected billing and review the compatible path to resume.

Separate accepted saves from paid renewals. Pending renewals, support handoffs and unfinished cancellations are not collected revenue.

Compare accepted offers with subsequent renewals and collected revenue; renewal totals alone do not establish incremental impact.
